Joints in the wires composing the strand shall be either the brazed-lap type or electric-butt-welded type shall be coated with zinc after completion so that the joints have protection from corrosion equivalent to that of the zinc-coated wire itself. The finished strand shall meet the requirements according to the specified approximate asstm per unit length of strand against minimum breaking strength, elongation, and ductility of steel. Strands shall have a left lay and all wires shall be stranded with uniform tension and be sufficiently close.
